How to Make Gado-Gado Salad at Home
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of bean sprouts, washed and blanched
- 1 cup of cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 medium sized potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes, fried until golden
- 2 medium sized carrots, peeled and cut into small cubes, boiled until tender but still firm
- ½ cucumber, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 small bunch of kale, blanched and cut into small pieces
- ¼ cup of roasted unsalted peanuts, crushed
- 1 package of firm tofu, cut into small cubes, fried until golden
- 1 hard boild egg, slice into quarters
Dressing Ingredients:
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 shallots, minced
- 1 tbsp of palm sugar
- 1 tbsp of tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp of sweet soy sauce
- 3 tbsp of peanut butter
- 3 tbsp of water
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Prepare all the vegetables by washing, blanching, and frying as necessary.
- Make the dressing by combining all the dressing ingredients in a bowl and whisking until well combined.
- Once all the vegetables are prepared, add them to a large mixing bowl and toss gently to combine.
- Drizzle the dressing over the vegetables and toss again until all the vegetables are well coated with the dressing.
- Sprinkle the crushed peanuts over the salad and top with the fried tofu and hard-boiled egg quarters.
- Serve immediately while still fresh and warm.
