How to Make Classic Vanilla Panna Cotta

4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large measuring cup or bowl with a spout. This step will remove any lumps or pieces of vanilla bean that have not fully dissolved.
5. Divide the mixture evenly among 4-6 ramekins or small glasses that have been lightly greased with vegetable oil or cooking spray.
6. Chill the panna cotta in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until it has set firmly.
7. To unmold the panna cotta, run a thin knife or spatula around the edge of each ramekin or glass, then invert onto a serving plate. If the panna cotta doesn’t come out easily, try dipping the bottom of the ramekin or glass in warm water for a few seconds to loosen it.
